Returning students have a unique role in fostering a safe campus. This course equips them with the knowledge to combat harassment, support peers, and lead by example.
This Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Awareness course empowers returning students to take an active role in creating a safer and more respectful campus environment.
Using real-world examples, students will explore the various forms of harassment and misconduct — both online and offline — and the harm these behaviours cause.
“Peer-to-peer is the most successful way to get these messages across – part of why we’re so excited to partner with GoodCourse.” – Prof Louise Mullany, Professor in Sociolinguistics, University of Nottingham
The course introduces the 5Ds model of active bystander intervention, encouraging students to step in safely and effectively. It also emphasises the influence returning students have as campus leaders in modelling positive behaviour.
Students will learn the practical definition of consent, understand the rights of those affected by harassment, and gain knowledge about reporting mechanisms and available support, including counselling and resources for survivors.
