Safeguarding

Safeguarding starts with awareness. This course empowers students to recognise safeguarding issues, seek support, and contribute to a safe university community.

Supporting Student Safety Together

This course helps students understand what safeguarding means and how to play an active role in creating a safe environment on and off campus.

By sharing real-life examples and practical insights, students will become more aware of online abuse and provides tips on responding to potential safeguarding issues, especially while on placements.

“The courses make you feel like you’re being spoken to by peers, which is really important.” – Simon Brooks, Associate Dean (Students), Portsmouth

With a focus on meeting Ofsted’s standards, this course equips students to navigate safeguarding concerns, know where to seek help, and build a stronger, supportive campus community.

It also informs students about the mental health and wellbeing resources available through university services, including Tutors, Student Advice and Wellbeing, and Programme Leaders.
